Although instructional leadership is one of the most researched forms of school leadership, many leaders (district, building, instructional coaches, teacher leaders) struggle to put it into practice due to lack of time or experience. This becomes an issue because it prevents them from building credibility in the instructional leader role, which can be detrimental to their walkthroughs, observations and impact on student learning. Peter DeWitt, Ed.D. will take his research behind instructional leadership, and dive deeper into six distinct parts, which are implementation, focus 4 learning, instructional strategies, student engagement, efficacy, and evaluation of impact.
