The National Principals Association’s recognition programs shine a national spotlight on the exceptional leaders who are making a difference in schools and communities across the country.
The National Principal of the Year (POY) and Assistant Principal of the Year (APOY) programs recognize outstanding principals and assistant principals at the elementary, middle level, and high school levels. Through a national network of state and organizational partners, these programs elevate school leaders whose leadership, vision, and commitment to students and educators exemplify the best of the profession.
We also celebrate these leaders through the National Education Leadership Awards (NELA), our premier recognition event honoring outstanding school leaders. NELA brings together exceptional leaders from across the country to celebrate their accomplishments, share their stories, and highlight the impact of great leadership in education.
